Hailing from Massachusetts Ligeia have written probably the best metalcore album I have ever heard under the name Your Ghost Is A Gift which was released back in 2006 by Ferret Records. I know I am late for writting a review for this album but since its such a great album it feels like its a album that still hasn't got old for me. With the melodic singing and the aggressive screams of Keith Holuk, the powerful riffs from CJ,Ryan Ober,Matthew Bennett and the solid drum beats from Phil Fonseca, this album has really distinguished itself from other records. There are two different types of songs on this album. The first group sound like the melodic hardcore feel with lots of singing and screaming and the second group of songs are very deathcore like which are alot slower but very powerful. Every song is great from front to back.
Even though with a great group of musicians working on this record, they also have a appearance from Phil Labonte of All That Remains on the track "Makin, Love To A Murderer". Many will not know this but there is a connection between Ligeia and All That Remains. Jeanne Sagan(All That Remains/Light Is The Language/The Acacia Strain) use to play bass for Ligeia.
If anyone wants any great melodic metal tunes they should really check out this record from the band.
